Five Fall Favorites :)

Hi Guys!

So I know, I haven't been posting in like... EVER LOL. But I've had nothing but busy work and stress on me sooo yeah, the posts have lagged. But hopefully I'll be posting soon! I wanna go ahead and post my Five Fall Favorites

I wanna go ahead and say that these favorites are pretty much the epitome of my usual fall make up routine. If you see me, this is pretty much what I would be wearing on most days

1. NYX Matte Lip Creme in Amsterdam: I have been reaching for this more than I want to. I feel like this suits my skin tone so well and it is honestly pretty hard to find a red lipstick to suit my skin tone. I won't go into too much depth because Ill be posting a quickie review soon (hopefully).  But I seriously am in love with this product.

2. L'Oreal Blush in Watchful Owl: This blush is probably one of the most boring looking blushes in the pan but I honestly love it on my skin. It's bright enough that it shows up on my skin but its not that bright for it to be obnoxious. Since I've been wearing a lot of red and darker toned lips, this really compliments it greatly. It gives color without making me look like a clown with my red lips.

3. Essie Nail Polish  in Going Incognito: This polish is actually the inaugural polish that I use as a start for my fall nail polishes. I've been reaching for this a lot because I usually go to the neutral toned clothes for the fall. I like to be more bold with my nails. I do have a
more in depth post on this and I hope that you check it out

4. Stila Eyeshadow in Tolima: I honestly have had this for a while and I usually just use this to define my crease but lately, I've just been using it all over my lid and some mascara and liner and out the door.
Like I said, I've been wearing bold lip colors lately so this has been my bestfriend as for the eyes.

5. LORAC Front Of The Line Pro Liner: Im not gonna go too into depth with this now, but I gotta say that this is my Holy Grail liner. It's always so wet and ready to go. I've had this one liner since the spring and its still good too go. I have yet to finish it up and I have been using it a lot lately. I  will post a review of this soon :)

Let me know what your Five Fall Favorites are in the comments
below :)

Worth The Hype?: Anastasia Brow Powder

Photobucket

Hey Guys!

So I know I haven't posted in forever but I decided to do tiny little posts but still productive to the beauty community. I wanted to start this kind of series called Worth The Hype?. I wanted to just test out some products and give a quickie review and the bless the inaugural post will be the Anastasia Brow Powder.

The verdict is... WORTH IT!

Reason? It's a powder yes, but it is probably the creamiest I've ever used for brows. I never thought that a brow product that's a powder would work amazingly. It looks absolutely natural but if you're looking for something a little stronger, this product let's you do that too.

So have you guys tried this out? Please let me know in the comments below.

My D.I.Y. Bracelets :)

Hi Guys!

So I wanted to share these bracelets I made! if you guys are frequent watchers of a certain Youtuber named MissGlamourazzi, you'd know that she made a video about this. Honestly, i used to know how to do this a while ago. This was huge back in the Philippines. When i saw Ingrid's video, its sparked that joy again and here are the bracelets that i made :)

DSCN3439

This one is just a simple braid. If you guys know how to braid hair, then its super simple to just do this :) i just used a smaller suede cording
DSCN3440

This one is much more complicated. This knot is called a square knot. just google "square knot bracelet" and you'll be good to go. I used a purple suede cording as a base (or an anchor, whatever you guys wanna call it lol) and i used blue hemp twine for the knots.
DSCN3441

This bracelet is the same knot as the last one. The only thing i did differently with it is that i did it in a different color and i placed a toggle on it. I personally didnt buy these toggles, i had some bracelets that had toggles (That i know i wasnt gonna wear anymore) and i took of the closures. Great way to recycle some jewelry right?
 DSCN3443

This bracelet is essentially the square knot bracelet but i just used beads. I took apart some beads from an old bracelet (again, something that i felt was out of season) and i put them within the bracelet. i just put some knots in between the beads so it doesnt seem too clunky in one area
DSCN3442

Anyway, please let me know what you guys think of these bracelets :)

If youre curious on where I bought these materials, they're all from Amazon. I feel like theyre much cheaper :)

OOTD: Swing High Low ;)

Photobucket

Hi guys!

I wanted to share a quick OOTD. I was so happy to have a high low skirt that I wore it the day right after I got it. It's from JCPenny surprisingly. I got it for $8! Granted, there is shipping costs but it is still so much more cheaper than anything from forever 21 or H&M. I wanted to wear it kind of high waisted and I really do like it. I felt like it was a little too weird so I put a small belt on to really tie everything together :)
I also put a slightly loose shirt, not too loose since the skirt itself is loose. I also chose one with print because the skirt is just one color and i wanted to balance it out a little. The skirt is a little bright but the shirt helped bring it down a little :)

Anyway, please let me know what you guys think about this outfit in the comments below :) btw, I post all my outfits on my instagram. It would be awesome if you guys followed me :)

NOTD: Summer Fun! :)

Hey Guys!

So I wanted to share this NOTD with you guys because im seriously loving both the color combination and the small design of it. Granted it isnt the best and most intricate design, i still think that it stand out enough for people to take notice.

DSCN3424

As you can see, all i did was a copper, kind of darker rose gold polish as a tip and a moon at the bottom of the nail with a nice slightly neon coral base. As a base color (the coral), I used a Jessie's Girl nail polish in JulieG and the accent polish (the bronzey rose gold) is China Glaze's Harvest Moon. I wouldnt really have a tutorial for it because i think its pretty simple. I let the base cool down completely, i even used a quick dry nail polish to speed up the process.

DSCN3426-1
Im calling this manicure "summer fun" because i think this combo just SCREAMS summer. Since rose gold has been such a big trend this year, this kind of bronzey color is a great substitute. The coral also brings out the "rose gold" in the polish.

DSCN3428-1

So let me know what you guys think of this NOTD down in the comments below :)

My Crazy Color Obsession: Mint :)

Hey Guys!

So this is one of those different posts. I will have more beauty posts soon but I kinda wanted to share/vent about this obsession of mine; and this is for the color Mint. I know that this is probably the most "it" color right now. Frankly, I've always loved mint and not to sound hipster but I have liked it before it went "mainstream". Since it did start popping up in many different places, this small spark of mine turned into a real fire. Anyway, I simply wanted to share my new laptop cover. Ive had my Macbook for about 4 years now and I've had a purple case, but since I'm entering college in a few months, i thought that a new laptop cover is a must.

DSCN3343

As you can tell, my sheets are of that mint color too. Now i know what youre thinking, this isnt the most "mint" color. I know its more like a Tiffany blue color but i kind of consider it in the family of the mints. There is also a closer look to my keyboard cover :)

DSCN3342

Its a little different typing with the keyboard cover and im not the biggest fan of it. I had one before but i threw it out because im not the biggest fan of it. But its SOOOO pretty :)

Anyway, let me know in the comments what you feel about mint :)

Current Purchases of 04-23-12 :)

Hey Guys!
I wanted to go ahead and post this "haul." But "haul" is not my favorite word. Lets call this my "Current Purchases".

So I wanted to go ahead and share a few item that I just recently got. I unfortunately got all of these in one day (I ordered a few things a week ago but JUST got them in) and I know! I seriously need to stop buying make up but it seriously is such a disease! Anyway, I wanted to go ahead and share it because my initial thoughts of it are pretty amazing

DSCN3239

So I have learned a great lesson and started researching my make up before buying them. Dont get me wrong, i still have impulse buy (like my current Hautelook buys) and here are a few of them. I ordered from HauteLook when they had. Here are some things that I picked up
- Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil in NSA
- Urban Decay Shadow Pencil Stash Set
DSCN3238

I heard about Wet n Wild's new bronzers through many blogs. I already think that a lot you guys have heard of it but in case you haven't, Wet N Wild came out with 2 new bronzers and an illuminator. I cant even explain how amazing these powders are. I only got the illuminator and the darkest bronzer because the other one is a little too shimmery. They labelled the illuminator as a "bronzer" but i really dont think it is. It leaves such a gorgeous light satin shimmer and I will do a post for you guys. But anyway, i got:
- Wet N Wild Bronzer in Ticket to Brazil
- Wet N Wild "Bronzer" in Reserve Your Cabana
DSCN3240

Now, It's time to show some Milani products. I am not actually that exposed with this brand, but after these purchases, I think ill be doing some exploring (after a good allotted time has passed since this purchase) But I went ahead and just got 2 products. I got these when they were they had a Buy one, Get one 40%. I actually got these since these were the more popular products. Here are the things that I got:
- Milani Nail Polish in Pink Flare
- Milani Baked Blush in Coralina
DSCN3241

This one purchase isnt very exciting. I actually just got the Seche Vite top coat. I gotta say, I think i'll start using this again. It just dries my polish amazingly and the finish is awesome!
DSCN3242

We have reached the stretch! These are the last few items that I got. They are all lip products. Lets face it, we all love the Revlon Lip Butters and well I am definitely one of those people. I heard great things about these two colors and I wanted to pick them up. Another reason why I did is because Revlon Lip Products are only $6 in CVS! I wanted to share this because i rwant you guys to catch this deal. Other than that, I also got a lipstick from Wet N Wild. I think its a new color. I think that its absolutely gorgeous! Definitely wait for a post because I think i found my perfect pink lipstick :)
- Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
- Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle
- Wet N Wild Lipstick in Dont Blink Pink
DSCN3243

Anyway, thats it guys! Let me know in the comments if you guys want a review or post on any of these products :)

Till later!

Dupe Alert!: Sephora's Tangerine Tango :)

Hey Guys!

I know, i know. I dont wanna hear it! it seems like I've only been posting about once a month but I do have some rather fun ones to post soon. Anyway, this one is about Sephora's Tangerine Tango lipstick and how i found a possible dupe.

Photobucket

So unless you havent heard, Sephora paired up with Pantone Universe and created a make up line that was solely based on the color of the year; which is Tangerine Tango. Frankly, when I heard that it was a tangerine color, I jumped at it the first chance I got. It was actually on sale only for VIBs first but its now open to the public. Now that thats done, this is still a sought after lipstick and I do think that it is great for almost any skin tone. The smell of it is also AMAZING, but Ill get to that soon.

Anyway, at $18 a tube, it is kind of expensive and I'm not gonna lie that it is pretty small. It also is a fairly daring color so it might not be so appealing to someone who hasnt tried bold colors. But i do have a solution! I have found a color fairly similar to Tangerine Tango, it is much cheaper and it is more accessible to some :)

Photobucket

As many of you know, Revlon came out with a line of lip butters. I actually bought one color that I had for a while, just didnt use it. That color is Tutti Frutti. Frankly, i didnt know that it was about the same as Tangerine Tango until i swatched them together.

Photobucket

I think its safe to say that they are unbelievably similar. BUT there are some differences.

Sephora's Tangerine Tango
- It does lean a little more to being a cool tone (but just a little bit)
- It has a very distinct scent
- Leaves a slight tint
- Lasts much longer than the Revlon one

Revlon's Tutti Frutti
- It does take a few more swipes before getting this intensity
- Does NOT have a scent (which could be great for some more sensitive to scents)
- Re-applying is a must to keep the color
- More moisturizing than the Sephora one.

They might not be the exact same lip colors but if you have been wanting to try out the Sephora lipstick, i suggest that you try the Revlon one first. And at a price range of $7-$9 (depending on where you get it) What's there to lose?

Anyway, please let me know what you guys think of this color

OR

If you guys want me to dupe anything, let me know in the comments

OPI's Pink Friday :)

Hey Guys!

Time for another one of my nail posts. This time its on OPI's Pink Friday.

Photobucket

So if you are familiar with this polish (as I'm sure everyone is) this is from the Nicki Minaj collection that i think is still out. Its named after her famous color and her album. I dont have her MAC lipstick named after this color but im sure its a very similar shade. But the color is very much a light pink. It kinda reminds me of cotton candy actually. One of the nail blogs that I saw described it as a "pepto bismol" color and i thought it was pretty funny lol. Its kind of border lining on pastel but theres something about it that doesnt make it fully pastel

Photobucket

Now as for the formula, you'll be happy to know that it took about 2 coats to get this. Its not one of those "one swipers" but 2 coats can be just right. It can be a little bit streaky but i kind of expected that because of the color. Other than that, i dont have any bigger concerns.

Photobucket

Anyway, please let me know what you guys think of this color in the comments :)

Current Favorites :)

Photobucket

Hey Guys!
I wanted to go ahead and show my Current Favorites. I haven't done a "favorites" post in a while and i thought doing a more "current" one is fitting. Anyway, here are just a couple of products that i've been loving.

EYES
Photobucket
LORAC Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow Primer: I bought this primer during the Ulta sale, and i've been using ever since. I gotta say, this is going to be my new holy grail primer. This lasts MUCH longer than my Urban Decay Primer. I suggest that you guys should try it out

Covergirl Cream Shadow in Blue Bomb: My mom actually gave me this cream shadow. I thought of uses for this and while experimenting, i used it as an inner corner highlight and it actually really opens up your eyes. Ive been loving how long this stays on as well. Another great product.

Maybelline Color Tattoos in Tough as Taupe and Bold Gold: I LOVE these cream shadows! I was never a big fan of cream shadows, they always usually crease on me. This might be the first cream shadow that very creased on me.. and I didnt even set it with a shadow. I must say im incredible impressed by it :)

Photobucket

MAC Eyeliner in Minted: I have been crazy over green liners lately. This is definitely my favorite. Its a nice emerald base with a light teal shimmer. I think this is a part of their permanent collection and this definitely makes green eyes pop.

Maybelline Gel Liner in Forrest: This is a again another green liner. I usually use this as a base for my MAC eyeliner. Its a dark green and it has an emerald shimmer. This is unfortunately limited edition but there are plenty of these colors available. Its definitely something to look at :)

Photobucket

NARS Eyeshadow in California: I have been loving a lot of color and this is kind of a great transition. I usually apply this all over the lid or use it on my crease. I gotta admit, i only started using this because of Gigi on GCB. I thought the orange/copper color looked great on brown eyes.

MAC Pigment in Melon: This is my go to eyeshadow for whenever i feel a little lazy. I just use this with my finger, a little liner and im out the door. This is my transition shade for spring to summer and I always go back to this.

Photobucket

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara: I found my holy grail mascara! This is probably the most amazing mascara that ive dealt with. This really defines my lashes on the first coat. It then volumizes it on the next one. The best thing about this is that it doesnt smudge. That was probably one of the biggest issues i had with mascara, but this is pretty incredible. I really do like it.

BRUSHES
Photobucket

Real Techniques Detailer Brush: This is the only brush that i wanna feature. When i first got this brush, i had no idea what to do with it. It wasnt until i started using cream highlighters for my inner corner that i figured out a use for it. I love that its very precise on blending out color.

LIPS
Photobucket

MAC Lipstick in Spirit: Since i have been using a lot of colors on my eyes, i thought i would be a little more neutral my lips. I use a bunch, but this has been my favorite. Its a satin finish so i just use a little bit of Rose Bud Salve and it leaves a great lip combination.

Pur-Lisse Lip Moisturizer: I got this in my Glam Bag and i do think this is a full sized product. I LOVE this! I use this before i do my make up and it really leaves my lips very moisturized and it makes it easier to work with.

NAILS
Photobucket

Jesse's Girl nail polish in JulieG: This is no doubt my go to spring polish. I absolutely LOVE the color. The formula of it is not the best, but i can sort of bare with it. Check out my post on it :)

China Glaze nail polish in Harvest Moon: I featured this polish during myHunger Games Week. This is probably my favorite out of the entire Hunger Games collection and yes, i do have all of the nail polishes from that collection. This is such a gorgeous color! I do have a post on this an it is pretty in depth so if you want to see it, please check it out :)

Anyway, thats it for now. Please leave a comment below on what you think of my favorites and i will see you guys in the next post :)

Jessie's Girl - JulieG

Photobucket

Hey Guys!

I totally just left you guys hanging after the Hunger Games Week series that i had. (If you didnt see it, just click the link :D) but I do have a bunch of other posts soon :) I just did some major haulage during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty so i'll be posting that up soon. But anyway, this will be ANOTHER nail polish post, and i definitely have some opinions about it. This is the Jessie's Girl Nail Polish in JulieG

Photobucket

This nail polish is the most perfect coral nail polish and i have been on the search for a good coral nail polish and well I think i found it. I usually find that some corals look too orange or too pink on me. I find that this one is just about the best balances that i can find. I still has a sort of "pink" side but it still has an orange tinge to it. Its also bright which is great because i usually find that some corals are too "neon" looking on me but i thought this was was about the right amount of brightness.

Photobucket

Now lets talk about the formula. I usually just sing praises about the nail polish but i really didnt like this one. The formula was a PAIN in the you know what! I think its because im just used to the "one swipe, opaque" polishes, but i thought that this was kind of sheer. Its completely buildable, ill give it that but i had to do about 3-4 coats to fully get the best coat. This is probably why the polish looks the way it does but i guess its alright. I feel like i have a love/hate relationship with this polish. I LOVE the polish SO much, but its a complete pain to apply

Photobucket

Anyway, please let me know what you guys think of this polish in the comments below :)

Hunger Games Week: NOTD- "The Girl On Fire"

Hey Guys!

So welcome to the Day 4 of my Hunger Games Week! This is probably going to be my favorite post for the entire week. This is going to be my manicure to watching the midnight premiere. I call it "The Girl On Fire" as per Katniss Everdeen's manicure during the interview. This is the "Nail Polish" post for the day, if you would like to see the "Fashion" post that i put up about Katniss Accessories

Photobucket

Anyway, if you guys haven't been reading the books, the general gist of the Hunger Games is that the 12 Districts send 2 of their children to the Capitol to fight to the death during the games called "The Hunger Games" If you read my post on Day Two, you'll know that the tributes are sent to the capitol to get all pretty and interviewed before they fight. The main character; Katniss, is nicknamed as "The Girl On Fire" because of her parade costume and her dress during the interview. The book was pretty detailed on her outfit and they specifically talked about her nails once. They said that one of her stylists put flames on her nails. I was VERY inspired to recreate this. I thought it was appropriate to use China Glaze colors as well. So this is my rendition of Katniss' nails :)
Photobucket

So the basic procedure of this is that i placed Fast Track as an over all base of the nail. I then used Scarlet to create a basic shape for the flames. I didnt used a sponge, I just used the brush and scraped off some polish on the side of the bottle. I let all of that dry and then I applied Electrify from the tip down and built up the glitter mostly on the bottom. I finished off with a sprinkling of Luxe and Lush on the bottom just for more glitter.
Photobucket

I used ALL China Glaze colors and I will list all of the names below in the order that they are in the picture.

-Scarlet
-Electrify (Hunger Games Collection)
-Luxe and Lush (Hunger Games Collection)
-Fast Track

Photobucket

Anyway, let me know what you guys think of these manicure in the comments below :)

Hunger Games Week: Katniss Accessories :D

Hey Guys!
Welcome back to my Hunger Games Week. This is Day 4 of the series. Now I know the last 3 posts have been nothing but nail polishes. I know you guys must be so tired of it, so I wanted to shake things up and put in a fashion post. This is of course, based on Katniss Everdeen Check out the nail polish post for today. Its a manicure called "The Girl On Fire"

Photobucket

Here is the first piece that I wanted to show, This is a ring I got from Forever 21 and im not sure if you can get it anymore, but i felt that this had some representation of Katniss. As you've seen from the trailers, Katniss is known for wearing a Mockingjay pin throughout the Games. Its her way of wearing something from her district (District 12). Now, i know this bird is definitely not a Mockingjay since we have no actual mockingjays, but its pretty darn close. The flowers on the ends are also very reminiscent of a Primrose; which is Katniss' sister's name. So this ring is absolutely a great representation of her.
Photobucket

Now this next piece is kind of playing off the whole "bird" thing again. It might not be mockingjay-esque so if youre unhappy about that, just know that Katniss always hunted birds and sold them throughout the district. I love that this has two tones of color. These ring are actually two separate ones and if you only wanna wear one, then its completely up to you :) I bought this from H&M pretty recently so it might still be around.
Photobucket

Now this is piece of jewelry is rather perfect. These are feather earrings and I got them from Arden B a while ago. The black can represent the coals of District 12 and the orange tips are planned pretty well. Katniss was nicknamed "The Girl Who Was On Fire. The orange tips can show off her "fiery" nature and of course the games themselves.
Photobucket

This last piece is playing towards the "Girl On Fire" thing again, and as you see from the earrings, its pretty self redundant. It looks pretty amazing on all kinds of hair colors. I think it got this at a boutique somewhere around
Photobucket

Anyway, let me know what you guys think of these accessories in the comments below :)

Hunger Games Week: China Glaze - Harvest Moon :)

Hey Guys!
Welcome to Day 3 of Hunger Games Week. If you guys have yet to see the other 2 posts that I put up the last 2 days, then I will definitely link them down below.

Photobucket

But anyway, here is Day 3. As of today. We have 3 days till the Hunger Games premier and following along with my nail polish theme, here is Harvest Moon.

Photobucket

This polish is based of from District 9 which is the Grain district. Im not totally a hundred percent sure of how this nail polish is suppose to represent the District. Its not always well represented in the books. All we know is that they are responsible for grain. Irregardless, this polish is probably one of my favorites for the entire collection. Its a beautiful kind of antiqued copper color and its VERY much a metallic color.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Its an amazingly opaque color. It takes about 1 coat to get its full opacity but if you want the full on "metallic" look, then I would say 2-3 would be great. It lasted amazingly well throughout the week. I wore it for an entire week (which is kind of unheard of. I Always change my nail polish every 2-3 days) and throughout the week, i had the most minimal chipping that I've had in a while. It truely is incredible

Anyway, let me know what you guys think of this nail polish in the comments below :)
